Golden Moon Distillery recently earned two honors in the Gin Magazine Awards 2021! Golden Moon Speakeasy (the distillery’s tasting room located at 1111 Miners Alley in downtown Golden) was named Bar of the Year. They even took home the honor of Highly Commended for Distiller of the Year award.
Stephen Gould and Dr. Karen Knight founded Golden Moon Distillery in early 2008. They worked for years perfecting their distilled art in low volume production to create a mature product.
They set out to produce premium artisan whiskies, brandies, liquors, and liqueurs using the best available ingredients and the same type of artisan production processes utilized by distillers making premium products in the mid-to-late 1800s.
The heart of Golden Moon Distillery is Mr. Gould’s world-class research library, which contains hundreds of rare books on distillation and related products and processes dating back to the 1500s. You can take a quick virtual tour of the distillery on their YouTube channel.
