For food manufacturers based in the UK they may be thinking, ‘we can’t hire EarthKosher, they aren’t based in the UK’. Not true! While we are based in North America, we offer Kosher certification around the globe. In fact, we have a local UK based Rabbi to facilitate our UK inspections. We’ve worked with companies on many continents and have processes that allow the same level of service you’d expect in, say, Toronto or Miami.
As you’d expect, our first step towards obtaining Kosher certification in the UK is to schedule an initial consultation. During this meeting, we will evaluate your current practices and records to determine what adjustments need to be made in order to meet Kosher standards. This might include changes in your list of suppliers, ingredients, kitchen equipment or even training your staff. On the other hand, you might not need any changes at all; we’ll discuss the details after our free consultation.
Once the consultation is complete, the next step is to conduct an on-site visit to your facility. During this visit, the EarthKosher will inspect your production area, storage areas and any other relevant spaces to ensure they meet Kosher standards. We will also check the ingredients on hand to ensure they are approved for use. If we identify any deficiencies or areas that need improvement, they will provide you with a clear list of recommended changes to make before the next inspection.
After the initial site visit, follow-up visits will be scheduled to ensure that your facility continues to meet Kosher standards. These visits will usually be scheduled on a periodic basis and may be announced or unannounced. During these visits, we will check that your facility is still meeting Kosher standards and address any issues that arise.
If your facility successfully meets all Kosher certification standards, you will have earned your Kosher certification! You will be allowed to use our Kosher certified symbol on your products and marketing materials. Note that certification is not permanent and must be renewed annually.
After your certification is awarded, we will continue to offer support and guidance to ensure that your facility remains Kosher certified. Your facilities and records will continue to be monitored by a Rabbi and we’ll discuss any new products or changes in manufacturing as needed.
To sum things up, you’ll get the same expert attention you’d receive in Canada, the US or anywhere else we offer Kosher certification. If you’re based in the UK and looking for Kosher certification, get in touch. We’re ready to answer any questions you have and start your consultation whenever you’re ready.
